Team Electrify was at the annual charity convention, The Gathering, yesterday at the SECC.
Organised by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), the expo is a two-day celebration of all that is good about the country's charities.
Providing a platform for the third sector to engage, there were over 120 exhibition stands in the main hall, with charities, community groups, supporting bodies and some businesses.
The event is supported by a full range of workshops on such matters as fundraising, governance, finance, and current issues.
Our directors Lawrence & Lucy Broadie were delighted to meet several charities, all of whom inspired us with their incredible passion for the work they do.
It was a fantastic day for Electrify, said Lucy, to be in the company of so many charities who do amazing work, and are so passionate about their cause.
Everywhere we looked, we found people who share our own values, and that is so encouraging for us in the first two months of our new agency.
Of real note to Electrify's team are some of the key statistics which have come out of research commissioned by SVCO and revealed this week, which suggests the recent difficulties in the sector, particularly around one children's charity, have not had the same impact in Scotland.
In essence, 82% people continue to have faith and trust in Scottish charities, and that 90% have donated in the last year is perhaps an indication of the compassionate nature of people living north of the border.
What kept standing out to us, continued Lucy, is that there was a message to charities about proactively maintaining trust.
That means telling the amazing story of what they do, perhaps better than right now, a point the Scottish charity regulator OSCR reiterated in the I Love Charity workshop.
The line used in that session, that charities should be, overly proactive, stood out to us.
