We’re celebrating the start of a new era at Electrify today, with the news that Lauren Bennett has become a co-owner of our business.
Lauren - who is our creative director - has been with Electrify for nearly three and a half years. She was appointed to our board last May.
During this time Lauren has transformed our creative output, building a team almost exclusively of multi talented in-house creatives delivering film, animation, motion and static design and illustration.
Managing director Lawrence Broadie explains: “For a long time I’ve wanted a partner to work with me at Electrify.
”I originally thought that was a mentor, someone with more experience than me, who could guide - and challenge - me. And of course we may still look for that advice and insight.
“However, in Lauren I’ve found the most extraordinary talent, someone who gives it to me straight every day - and a close friend who I trust implicitly.
“She has contributed in every area of our business, having a profound impact, transforming our creative output, building a team almost exclusively of multi-talented in-house creatives delivering film, animation, motion and static design and illustration.
“To facilitate this change, I have gifted the shares to Lauren and we will cover all liabilities that fall due as a consequence.
“It’s a reward for her hard work, but also for believing me when I offered her a job on less than she was on at her previous employer that I would do everything to reward her.
“Lauren trusted me and I think we did our bit. Two pay rises and a promotion inside the first eight months showed just how serious we were.
“I tell everyone who is thinking about joining us that you can be anything you want to be at Electrify, and so I am so proud to have been able to make this happen.
“I love working with Lauren and take enormous comfort from her support - and unfiltered direct advice! That matters more to me than anything.
“When I set up Electrify late December 2015, I was determined to build a business rooted in values. Not ‘corporate values’ but actual values that are our people, not what they aspire to be. So when we talk about commitment, energy, honesty and kindness this is about us and how we behave, even if nobody’s around.
“Our business is strong, resilient, carefully managed and so we can reward success, and have done so across our team in the last few weeks. Many told me it wasn’t possible to do it my way, but I know now, more than ever, it was - and is.”
Creative director and new co-owner Lauren Bennett comments:
“It has been fantastic to find such a great agency, and an extremely hard working and talented group of people. Electrify has not only recognised my ability and ambition, extremely quickly, but gave me the opportunity to showcase and work to my full potential.
“That is really not always easy to find, and I feel extremely lucky and thankful. When Lawrence says you can be who you want to be, he really does mean it.
“I am excited for the future at Electrify and to see what our next big bold step is to keep evolving and growing as a team.”
